It depends, and anyone who gives you one number before they understand your project is guessing. What I can give you is how I price websites in Kenya in 2026, what each level includes and the costs that come after launch. I have built sites for a charity, a land company, an ESG data company, a moving company, a tech studio and a personal brand, so these ranges come from projects I have delivered.
The four levels
1. Landing page: KES 25,000 to 45,000
One page built to do one job: launch a product, sell a service, promote an event or collect sign-ups. Custom design, mobile first, a contact form and the basics of SEO. Delivered in about a week.
2. Business website: KES 60,000 to 120,000
This is where most Kenyan businesses and organisations should start. Up to eight pages, a blog, SEO set up properly, analytics and lead forms, all on a content system you edit yourself without a developer. Delivered in about two to three weeks.
3. E-commerce: KES 120,000 to 350,000
Selling online adds a product catalogue, a cart, payments by M-Pesa and card, orders, stock and delivery. A focused store sits at the lower end. Large catalogues and custom flows move it up. Delivered in about three to five weeks.
4. Custom builds: from KES 350,000
Donation platforms, customer portals, booking systems, dashboards and internal tools. These are scoped and priced per project. The programme systems I build for cohorts and communities sit here. For example, the Nawiri Sisters Foundation platform takes M-Pesa and card donations with monthly givers, sells event tickets with QR codes and door check-in, and lets the team edit every section. It went live in five days.
The costs people forget
The build is a one-off. Running the site is ongoing. Budget for these every year:
- Domain name: renewed every year. A .co.ke or .com costs a few thousand shillings.
- Hosting: from free for small sites on modern platforms to a monthly bill for sites with heavy traffic or a database.
- Business email: charged per person per month on Google Workspace or similar.
- Care and updates: backups, updates, small changes and someone to call when something breaks. I offer this as a monthly care plan.
What moves the price
- How much is custom. A template adjusted to your brand costs less than a design built from scratch.
- Features. Payments, accounts, bookings and integrations each add work.
- Content. If you have your text and photos ready, the project moves faster and costs less.
- Who can edit it. A site you can update yourself saves you money every month after launch.
How to get value for your money
- Get a fixed scope and a fixed price in writing before work starts.
- Ask to see sites the developer has built that are live today, and click through them on your phone.
- Make sure you own the domain and have access to everything.
- Ask how you will edit the content after launch.
- Ask what happens when something breaks in six months.
The cheapest quote can cost you more
A site that loads slowly on a phone, cannot be found on Google or needs a developer for every change costs you customers and time long after the invoice is paid. Pay for what you need now, on a system that can grow with you.
Questions people ask me about websites
Can I build it myself with a website builder?
For a simple personal page, yes. Once you need payments, bookings, good SEO or a site your team edits every week, a built site on a proper content system saves money over time.
How long does it take?
About a week for a landing page, two to three weeks for a business website and three to five weeks for an online store, once I have your content. Custom platforms are scoped per project.
Do you work with clients outside Nairobi?
Yes. I work remotely with clients across Kenya and beyond, and I have worked with teams in Estonia from Nairobi.
See the packages and sites I have built, or tell me about your project and I will send a fixed quote.
